A few decades ago, fruits and vegetables were stored in Kutta or Bamboo Baskets. The numerous pores of the Kutta facilitate cross-ventilation improving the shelf life of the items stored. They are very useful in draining rice as well.
The method of preparation is simple and straightforward. In this method, rice is boiled in plenty of water, manually checked to see when the rice has got cooked to one's liking and then excess starch water is drained off, any excess starch is removed with it.
