The house built complying with the Vastu shastra (traditional Indian architectural science) is said to be complete when it has a tulsi thara (tulsi pot).
The tulsi thara should be built against the main door that is facing the east direction where there is enough availability of sunlight. It shouldn’t be lower than the height of the flooring of your house. The distance from home to the middle of the tulsi pot should be measured before building it. Krishna tulsi is the apt one to plant.
As the breeze that is coming from the tulsi plant is rich in oxygen, the tulsi should be planted in a way that the breeze can enter the house. The flowers and leaves of the tulsi plant should only be plucked during the dawn and shouldnt be plucked after the sunset.
