Muram is a very useful product for winnowing, draining rice, and drying vegetables and grains. During the harvest season, they are extensively used in the fields and were an inseparable part of rural life. But slowly, bamboo winnows were replaced by plastic winnows and soon many Kavara (the community that makes bamboo winnows) families went jobless.
